Maasai Marriage Blessing - July 24th

Choir singing to the bride & groom. Skyler is blond in the blue and Justine is to his left.

Skyler prepping David, his father-in-love to be, about what's next.

"Here's my gift of a heifer for you!"

"Thanks!"
Dry land!

Solomon Kipi, Peter Kukan & Isaya dancing post the ceremony.

Babu Skyler (Grandpa of Skyler) ready for the celebration!

On the road heading towards Maasai Land - notice the bougainvillea attached to the bumper for the celebration!

Aunt Dorothy catching a ride into camp post her car getting stuck.

Tammy riding into camp.

With my Aunt Dorothy who came down from Ethiopia. It's hard to see, but I'm wearing earings that are connected by the long blue & black strand of beads. I had to be careful! Larry, Tammy's dad in background as well as Judi, Justine's mom.

Home where Skyler came to pick up Justine & where they were given advice.

Celeste, Justine's sister & Justine at the beginning of their 'bejeweling'

Ta da! The shoes were chosen by the Maasai as well = Sketchers!

Justine & Skyler on the way down to the celebration. The 50 + people with them just on the fringes.

Ah, that's more realistic yet there is still a lot more people not pictured!!!
Best way to ride towards the end of the trip to Maasai land

Thanks for all the wonderful photos of the wedding celebrations! I've been trying to find a similar motorcycle photo taken in Tharaka during our time on the Kenya Project in 1983. Joy- I'd love to stay in touch! Can you send me your email address? Thanks: Kristine Magee, jandkmagee@sbcglobal.net
