Thanks Beth & Mark for a restful stop at your place. Mmm mmm good.
Able to stop in on the Reimer family just before crossing the border. I used to babysit Emily (Janzen) , mother of the tribe (one on white shirts was a neighbor), many years ago in Kenya. My oh my.
Overnight in friends house without them there. Missed them, but did enjoy their view.
Jack locks the door at his work at 10pm. Discovered that upon arrival a little bit post that. Thought he was messing with me and wouldn't open the door. We had a nice chat through the window.
Started the day helping Beth & Mark put in a garden in their backyard.
Then my nephew Jon - aka Jack - hosted me - fine China - at his place. I took him down in Battleship then we watched Harrison Ford do his thang.....below we are reacting to some dramatic scene - Jack is saving me :-).....
(It's August 1st & I'm going to start catching up on my blog --- day by day and trying to stick to just one picture - hard on some days --is how I'm going to do it!)
Into British Columbia this day to....paused to take a quick pic just after crossing the border. Fun family times here I come!!!
3259 miles, 7 gracious homes letting us crash overnight, lot of snacks, music, talking and taking in the sights ... we (didn't get a pic of me :-) and the bamboo plant made it!!!!
Integrating the dogs at the park
In La Grande, OR helping Kim check on the mama cows ---
Dogs actually staying on their 'stay blanket'. I'm so proud!!! Our hosts Dave & Jeanie. My family & Jeanie's family were colleagues in Ethiopia many moons ago, but we did not know each other. It was good to get to know her & Dave and hear about her escapades with my older siblings :-). Suzanne with Bubba - 4 month old Shih-tzu. So cute and the dogs got along fine!
